The Magic of Kintsugi and Evivid.

Transforming the broken into beauty.

One day, a pair of jade earrings arrived at my atelier—one shattered into several pieces. Their owner, deeply attached to them for their sentimental value, had searched high and low for similar earrings… and found none.

When she entrusted them to me, I knew this story deserved more than being forgotten just because no ready-made solution existed.

I recalled a conversation with a jeweler friend who spoke of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics by joining their fractures with lacquer mixed with gold powder. Instead of hiding the cracks, it makes them the very soul of the piece—a living symbol of its journey.

Inspired by that philosophy, I chose to embrace Kintsugi’s essence at Evivid: not to conceal scars, but to integrate and elevate them, honoring every mark as part of a jewel’s path.

We believe imperfection can be extraordinary, and that our own “flaws”—far from diminishing us—make us unmistakably unique.

While traditional Kintsugi uses specific materials, at Evivid we adopt its spirit creatively: each restoration becomes a tribute to the passage of time, never disguised or erased. Because scars—visible or unseen—tell the truest stories of who We are.

The earrings were lovingly restored, and their owner wore them again, discovering something essential: beauty lies in the marks life leaves behind, and imperfection adds depth rather than detracts.

Today, that jewel stands as a testament to a story lived, embraced, and transformed.
That is the true magic of Kintsugi…
and of Evivid.
